Inspired by resurrection, puzzles, and a passion for history; Isobel Milena has focused on reapproriating materials often antiques and using their collective significance and meaning to piece together a new artifact.
Isobel Milena was concieved in the summer of 2009. She is the Pseudonym of a collaborative partnership between Tamara Cervenka and Catherine Brooks. While tamara holds a passion and senstivity for combining materials and metal work and Catherine handles the painting, it became such a synthesis that they could no longer tell who was doing what. It was decided that they would create under a single name. Tamara now lives and works in Brooklyn, NY and Catherine is residing in Richmond, VA.
